A Three-Second Study
2017
Photography
A Three-Second Study uses high-speed photographing to capture ants navigating on U.S. traffic signs over three seconds. This series presents ants’ interpretation to human social rules, and shows their unique and unpredictable behaviors. By placing the world of ants in front of symbols of human order, this project questions the hierarchy of biological classification and challenges our anthropocentric view in human-nature relationship and planet stewardship.
